Lorraine Gill Galleries - The Clapham Road Series
Kennington Park
Walking up to City and Guilds Art School in the mornings along Clapham Rd, I would pass by Kennington Park with its little tea-house; trees and council blocks and terraces behind. It was the only natural space of any worth nearby and indicated to me the changing of seasons: the crocuses were the best time, for the spring would not be far away.
This etching is winter when a grey light prevails and the trees are stark in shape.
