Lorraine Gill Galleries - The Clapham Road Series

Alice Springs Studio

During my long journey into the red-heart of Australia, I met two territorians (people who represented the tough, giving nature of the real people of the Outback). Aud and Mal Hull who ran Toddys Cabins, a tourist complex in Alice Springs of a rather rustic nature.

Accommodation had been hard to find. I had previously lived on various aboriginal communities in the surrounding desert areas of Alice Springs, as well as a stone room out by Uluru working as a dogs-body for tourists, worst was a de-mountable shed on a Camel Farm where I was in danger of de-hydrating.

Aud and Mal came to the rescue and offered a tent attached to a mobile caravan the colourful sight as described in this etching.

Prints are available and have the option to be hand signed by Lorraine, they have a limited print run of 250 and are individually numbered.
